What is full-grain Italian leather?
Full-grain leather is the top layer of the hide with its natural grain pattern intact — the highest grade of leather available. Italian full-grain leather is tanned in Tuscan tanneries using vegetable or chrome-tan processes refined over centuries, then water-dyed for colour penetration through the hide rather than just on the surface. Water-dyed full-grain leather develops a patina over years, ages 15–25 years in daily use and is the most durable upholstery surface money can buy when correctly conditioned. Every SOISU leather piece uses full-grain water-dyed Italian leather as standard.
